Manuel Perez, Ph.D. - Assoc. Director Research & and Development
Dr. Perez who is Professor of Mathematics at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has taught at that institution since 1971. He brings over 30 years computer experience to MatheMEDics and EasyDiagnosis. Since 1983 he has collaborated in developing various medical expert systems and published articles on artificial intelligence and Bayesian decision theory in medicine.
Dr. Perez has worked with microcomputers, minicomputers, and main frames for over 3 decades. He has been the system administrator for a network of Sun workstations operating under Unix and has designed and installed a number of networked and multi-user PC compatible systems for various companies. In addition he has been retained by several companies to develop custom software and database packages.
His career includes research engineering in optics, heat and mass transfer; he has been employed by Arde Inc and Curtis Wright where he worked in the areas of aerothermal design and gas dynamics analysis in the Minuteman rocket engines and other aerospace projects including the Lunar Module.
Dr. Perez holds the degree of B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York, an M.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the City University of New York.
