Chronic Drug Fatigue
From Expert System: Chronic Fatigue
Drug or alcohol abuse, continued or excessive use of medications, such as sedatives, tranquilizers, antihistamines, antidepressants or other psychotropic drugs, and some over the counter cold or cough medications are obvious causes of daytime sleepiness or fatigue. (See modules on Depression and Alcoholism for more thorough discussions of drug dependency and implications for other symptoms.) Most patients during, and often following, chemotherapy complain of fatigue, among other symptoms.
